The Tuned Compliance Concept achieves the level of vertical compliance and lateral stiffness required to deliver a tailored riding experience. Our Gravel bikes come with the D-shaped seatpost and Micro Travel Technology (MTT) for an incredibly smooth and efficient ride, even on rough terrain. URS models are equipped with TCC Gravel, the most powerful version of Tuned Compliance Concept Technology.

MTT Struts
The basic element of the BMC Micro Travel ecosystem, the MTT struts combine advanced carbon technology with the proven Dual-Guide design. The progressive tubing shapes of the seatstay and chainstay merge into the carbon and its highly specific lay-up to create exceptionally compliant performance on rough terrain. The MTT stays add compliance to the bike's rear triangle while improving traction and control on technical terrain in a lightweight, reliable and seamlessly integrated design.

Modern gravel tyres are capable of providing traction, improving rolling resistance and dampening high frequency vibrations caused by small obstacles. However, they reach their limits when faced with larger resistances such as cracks in the road surface, stones and roots. These impacts cannot be sufficiently absorbed by the tyres unless they are ridden with low pressure, which in turn affects safety and rolling resistance.

The MTT suspension fork is designed to eliminate the limits imposed by gravel tyres and avoid sacrificing performance. It absorbs more than 46% of the shocks that generate vibrations in the 10-50 Hz range typical of gravel riding.
