Fresh coffee is on the breakfast table, the morning program is on the radio. It's 8 o'clock, the city is waking up. Slowly it's time to start for the office - with your Altona. Sight down, off into the fray. The asphalt rushes by under your bike. You flow with the traffic. Without stress, without worries, with the best possible protection on your head. Altona means "all too close".
The new commuter helmet from Alpina brings you closer to your goals. All your goals. Thanks to a multitude of new technologies, the Altona sets new standards in safety, ventilation, comfort and integration. Maximum protection is provided by the high-performance material coroyd. The stable and extremely light honeycomb structure consists of a large number of small tubes which are thermally bonded together. In the event of an impact, they deform over a large area and absorb energy. Due to the stable construction, coroyd also enables greatly enlarged openings in the helmet surface, which guarantee excellent ventilation. Ventilation channels guide the air inside the helmet along the head. In the Altona, the climate management system can also be actively regulated via a sliding upper helmet shell. Whether in the cool morning or in hot rush hour traffic - the ventilation is always optimal.
But the Altona is much more than just a helmet. It is a helmet and goggles in one - thanks to the integrated shatterproof visor. It is available with and without Varioflex, the technology from Alpina that ensures perfect vision in all light conditions. The self-tinting (photochromatic) lens reacts to UV light and darkens automatically. The light silver-coloured mirror coating reflects infrared rays, 100% UV protection is guaranteed at all times. An additional plus point: behind the visor there is enough space for optical glasses. The Run System Ergo Flex guarantees a perfect fit and thus the best possible safety.
The filigree construction nestles evenly to the head - there is no more individual, smooth-running and comfortable way to adjust a helmet. The Altona's long list of features is rounded off by loops on the straps, which can be used to fix headphones, and the Plug In Light at the rear of the helmet. Two modes, continuous light and flashing, can be activated at the touch of a button - even while driving. Alpina has developed the best helmet for the urban environment for you. The Altona has everything you need for your way to work, for your tour through the city and for maximum safety.
Run System Ergo Flex
With the Run System, the size of all Alpina helmets can be individually adjusted with a smooth-running rotating wheel. The Run System Ergo Flex is Alpina's lightest and most comfortable adjustment system. The filigree construction nestles evenly against the head and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted via a fine ratchet - there is no more individual, smooth and comfortable way to adjust a helmet.
Proven hundreds of thousands of times and used in all Alpina helmets: the belt buckle with the red push button and multi-stage automatic lock. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - uphill you can loosen the strap, downhill you can tighten it - and in the event of a fall, the buckle mechanism cannot open by itself.
One factor that strongly influences the wearing comfort is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the ventilation openings is decisive for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, where it is guided along the head and can flow out again at the rear. The head is thus always pleasantly air-conditioned.
The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers which absorb the forces that act on the helmet during an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows extra-thin wall thicknesses and narrow helmet shapes.
In the Inmold production process, the helmet upper shell made of polycarbonate is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under great heat and strong pressure. This creates a large-area and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
All helmets from Alpina, which are manufactured using the Inmold process, are equipped with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under high heat onto the shape of the future helmet and pressed with high pressure onto the Hi-EPS body and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic Shell is characterized by several qualities: It is break and scratch resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.
